At Eets, every bite tells a family story. Founder and head baker Barry Veerkamp grew up surrounded by the comforting smells and flavours of the Dutch treats his mother made at home.
His parents, Henny and Theo, grew up in downtown Amsterdam and emigrated to Canada after the Second World War, settling in London, Ontario. Today, at 90 and 92, they’re still going strong — and his mother is still making Dutch treats for her four children, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
At Eets, Barry carries that tradition forward, crafting stroopwafels and poffertjes by hand using quality, locally sourced ingredients — and a whole lot of heart.
Stroopwafels are a classic Dutch treat made from two thin, crisp waffles with a deliciously gooey stroop filling, just like in Amsterdam.
First baked in the Netherlands in the 1800s, they started out as a humble bakery snack—and have since become a favourite around the world.
At Eets, we make ours by hand in small batches, dip them in white, milk, semi-sweet and dark chocolate, and top them with a variety of sweet and savoury toppings.

Poffertjes are mini Dutch pancakes—fluffy, golden and just a little crisp on the outside. Traditionally made with yeast and buckwheat flour, they’ve been a beloved street food in the Netherlands for centuries.
At Eets, we pour ours fresh to order using our signature batter made with flour from the Arva Flour Mill. Served warm with a pat of real butter and a dusting of icing sugar, you can top yours off with maple syrup, whipped cream or one of our delicious drizzles.
